Pteranodon
Section Introduction
- Pteranodon, meaning “wing without tooth”, was a flying reptile existing in the Late Cretaceous period. With a wingspan over 6 meters, Pteranodon fed on fish, mollusks, crabs and insects and sometimes scavenged on dead animals. Pteranodon outnumbered any other Pterosaurs in the number of fossil specimens, with more than 1,200 specimens known to science.
